Solvent recovery and emission control for a printing industry company
Past Projects

A printing industry client required a VOC emission control and solvent recovery system for its coater dryer exhaust.
During the planning stage, the client considered wet scrubber, carbon adsorption (with or without steam desorption), oxidizer (e.g. RTO and RTO), and condensation approaches.
Client was rightfully wary of the fire and explosion risk associated with the oxidizer approach due to the high-temperature and highly flammable nature of the volatile emissions, particularly if the control system relied solely on combustion.
Additionally, the large volume of dilution air required would necessitate a significantly sized oxidizer, leading to high capital investment costs. Solvent recovery would also be unfeasible with this method.investment costs. Solvent recovery would also be unfeasible with this method.
After consideration, the client opted for our total VOC control and solvent recovery system. Not only did the client reach the desired emission target and recycle >1 ton/day of solvent, our system simultaneously returned energy saving to the coater to reduce its fuel requirement. The client recouped their capital investment cost within 6 months of system installation.
